Erica Ferranti comes to us from one of the large North Carolina firms and brings with her a broad range of experience in estate planning, administration, tax issues and fiduciary litigation and a commitment to personalized client service. We are particularly pleased that her skills and experience will enable our firm to increase both the scope and depth of our legal services to our clients. She joins us with a commitment to our team philosophy and to giving high quality and professional legal service to our clients.

Erica works with individuals and families to design and execute estate planning, gifting and asset protection strategies that help to minimize probate and potential taxes. Erica also has extensive experience advising clients on the benefits of various revocable and irrevocable trusts, including Special Needs Trusts (SNTs) for disabled beneficiaries. Erica assists clients establish guardianships for family members. She also brings experience implementing estate planning for retirement benefits such as IRAs and 401(k)s. .

    • 2001- Present (President of Chapter CH 2008-2010) P.E.O.’s mission is to promote educational opportunities for women. P.E.O. sponsors six international philanthropies, designed to assist women with their educational goals. More than 80,000 women have benefited from P.E.O.’s educational grants, loans, awards, special projects and stewardship of Cottey College. To date, P.E.O. has awarded Educational Loan Fund dollars totaling $121 million, International Peace Scholarships are $24 million, Program for Continuing Education grants are $32 million, Scholar Awards are $11 million, and STAR Awards are $377,500. In addition, approximately 8,000 women have graduated from Cottey College. I am the fourth generation of my family to be involved with P.E.O.

      • Responsible for client development, advising clients on wealth preservation techniques, preparation of legal documents, including corporate documents, business succession documents, wills, powers of attorney, preparation of premarital agreements, and trusts, including complex trusts such as Intentionally Defective Grantor trusts, IRA trusts, special needs trusts, Irrevocable Life Insurance trusts, and Qualified Personal Residence trusts. Responsible for the implementation of estate plans, including advising clients about retirement benefits and beneficiary designations.
